New Month, New Beginnings

It’s a new month, with room for new beginnings. Here are three positive things about new beginnings.

1. Time for a fresh start

It’s the beginning of the month, meaning it’s time for a fresh start. Whatever didn’t go well in the previous months, let them go and look to this month as a way to renew. The soil is clean and is waiting expectantly to have seeds planted inside of it. A fresh start means the opportunity to have a clean slate which means another chance to get things right. Fresh starts are good because it allows you to do new things that you didn’t do before. Fresh starts can be rocky and shaky because you don’t have anything to fall back on. However, they can also be thrilling because the sky is the limit, and you’re not limited by what you have done before.

2. Time to look ahead

In this new beginning, it’s time to look ahead. It’s good to have a vision board, or a drawing board or notes that you’ve written for your future. Whatever you prefer, they’re all good because without them you may forget your goal. Having a clear vision gives you a sense of direction. Looking ahead means you’re focused on the road, and you’re able to know what to expect. Looking ahead means you can avoid certain paths that won’t lead you anywhere other than a dead end. However, looking ahead doesn’t mean dwelling on the future because your present is the road to the future. Without the present, we can never get to the future. So whilst you’re looking ahead, appreciate the now, and work on it for the future.

3. Time to let go

In this new beginning, let go of whatever is holding you back. It can be toxic friends or toxic relationships. Whatever it is, if it’s not helping, let it go. How do you know if it is or isn’t helping you? Well, does it make you grow? Does it help the situation? Does it have the ability to help you learn something new? See how I didn’t mention feelings? Like does it make you feel good or bad? Your feelings are important, but they can also limit you from growing and learning. When you work out at the gym, the pain can be intense, and it may not feel good. However, the results afterwards are worth it because you’ve now grown a little bit more. Don’t rely on your feelings. Let them be good indicators, but never let them drive the car. If the things or people in your life aren’t helping you to grow, or helping the situation, or helping you learn, then you need to decide to let them go. You will always be the product of your environment, and if the people around you are holding you back, you will never go anywhere.

In this new month, we have somewhere to be, so it’s time to get moving.
